EFFECTIVELY CLEAR ACNE WITH DIY SPA DAY

Once primarily a concern for teenagers, acne has now extended its reach to adults. There can be many reasons: environmental and dietary toxins, stress, and hormonal imbalance. At-home spa treatments will help you alleviate stress and nourish your skin with natural ingredients. It demands a little bit of initial effort, like buying dried herbs, but once you have everything, it is simple and budget friendly.  Here is how you can effectively clear acne with DIY spa day at home. To start off, prep your skin by cleansing it with your favorite cleanser.

Clear Acne with Steam Facial

Steam facial is easy, but potent DIY treatment that you can incorporate at home for acne relief. Steam is very effective in clearing the pores which helps prevent the chance of developing blackheads and new breakouts. Heat and moisture open the pores, invigorate the skin, and promote absorption of herbal healing properties. These are the best herbs to use for steam facials at home that will help fight acne-causing bacteria and heal your skin.

Comfrey is astringent, anti-inflammatory, and healing. Comfrey is often used to treat wounds and scars because of its tremendous healing properties. Caution: Comfrey’s healing properties work so fast that it can trap impurities if used on broken skin. Therefore, do not use this herb in a steam facial if you have broken skin.

Calendula is antiseptic, astringent, detoxifying, and healing. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, it is widely used for skin issues.

Echinacea is antimicrobial, detoxifying, healing, and anti-inflammatory. Echinacea is a popular herb that is used for many conditions. It has a notable performance against skin infections, including acne.

Steam Facial

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup dried herbs (any one or a mix of the three mentioned above)

  1. Bring water to a boil.
  2. Add herbs, stir, turn off heat, and let it steep for 5 minutes.

  6. Gently pat your face dry and follow up with a mild exfoliation.

Caution: Use your judgement to ensure you do not get a burn. Do not get closer to the pot than 6 inches.

Banish Acne with Exfoliation

After steam loosens dead skin cells, it is a perfect time for exfoliating your skin. You can choose from two of the treatments below. They have the ingredients that will help remove dead skin cells and nourish your skin at the same time. They are suitable for both, oily and dry skin type. The accompanying facial massage will invigorate your skin and will leave your skin feeling smooth and velvety. If done weekly, these treatments will help get rid of acne and acne scarring.
